Bahn Mi Burgers Recipe

SERVES 4 | FINISH IN 40 minutes

Vietnamese-inspired pork sliders with fresh vegetables and spicy mayonnaise.

  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 2 tbsp. freeze dried garlic
  • 1 tbsp. freeze dried ginger
  • 2 tbsp. sliced green onions
  • 1 tbsp. Kosher salt
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. white sugar
  • 2 tbsp. fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

Spicy Mayo

  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. green onions
  • 3 tbsp. Sky Valley® Sriracha

Burger toppings

  • 8 bao buns (steamed or fried)
  • ¼ c. shredded carrots
  • ¼ c. sliced cucumber
  • ¼ c. rice wine vinegar
  • ¼ c. fresh cilantro
  • 2 jalapeños, sliced
  1. In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients for the pork patties together except olive oil. Shape into 2-ounce patties.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, green onion and sriracha. Set aside.
  3. In another small bowl, mix the rice wine vinegar, shredded carrots, and sliced cucumbers together and set aside.
  4. Heat a skillet to medium high heat and add 2 tablespoons olive oil. Cook the pork patties for 3 minutes on each side or until the pork is no longer pink and registers 165° F.
  5. To assemble sandwiches, cut the fried or steamed bao buns in half. Place the pork patty on the bottom bun and top with pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, and jalapenos. Spoon one tablespoon of the sriracha mayonnaise on the top bun and place on top.
